The Two Trees

Life begins as God’s gift: humanity is welcomed into His garden, given a vocation, and taught to trust His wise boundary.

The Tree of Life stands within the abundance God provides. Genesis names the other tree as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; it does not give a lexical definition of that knowledge as ‘moral judgment seized apart from God.’ Our teaching uses that phrase as a theological reading of the narrative boundary: humanity is called to receive wisdom from the Giver rather than grasp autonomy from Him. The first human calling is relational—receive life, trust the Giver, and cultivate His world in faithful fellowship.

Life is received before it is achieved.
