The seven-sealed book · Revelation 5惟有羔羊配得

Worthy Is the Lamb

The cross. The blood. The victory. The throne.

John sees a book sealed with seven seals and hears heaven’s searching question: who is worthy to open it? The answer is Jesus Christ—the Lion who prevailed as the Lamb who was slain. This seven-part teaching follows His victory from the cross and redeeming blood to resurrection, the defeat of death, and the worship of all creation.

The Question in Heaven

The sealed book rests in the right hand of the One upon the throne, yet no created being can open it or even look upon it.

The book represents God’s sovereign purpose moving history toward judgment, redemption, and the renewal of all things. Power, intelligence, rank, and religious achievement cannot make a creature worthy to execute that purpose. John weeps because creation cannot rescue itself. Before grace is announced, the vision closes every door to human boasting and teaches us to wait for the One God provides.
