The Promise of the Harvest
Firstfruits gives God the first sheaf in faith that the whole harvest belongs to Him and points to Christ risen from the dead.

Firstfruits · Bikkurim
Leviticus 23:9–14 commands Israel to bring the first sheaf of the harvest to the priest before eating from the new crop. The first portion confessed that the land, the harvest, and the future supply all came from the LORD.
The first carries a promise
Firstfruits is gratitude before the harvest is complete. It trains God’s people to honour Him at the beginning rather than offering only what remains. The waved sheaf becomes a pledge that more is coming.
Christ the firstfruits
First Corinthians 15:20 calls the risen Christ the firstfruits of those who slept. His resurrection is not an isolated wonder; it is the beginning and guarantee of the resurrection harvest. Christian hope rests on what God has already begun in Jesus.
