The Spirit of Understanding
Understanding opens the heart to perceive the meaning of Scripture and the work God is forming beneath visible circumstances.
Understanding does not merely collect facts; it discerns their meaning and relationship within God’s revelation. Jesus opens the understanding of His disciples so they can see how Scripture bears witness to Him. The Spirit trains us to listen carefully, resist shallow conclusions, recognise what is true, and respond to people and circumstances with spiritual depth. He gives illuminated hearts without separating discernment from humility or love.
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures. — Luke 24:45 KJV5
